Working With Nisha Patel

As a therapist, Nisha recognizes that seeking out therapy is an incredibly brave and courageous step towards self-care and healing. She is committed to helping clients be their best selves, and providing a safe, non-judgmental, and affirming space to do so. Her therapeutic model focuses on family systems work, helping clients to gain an understanding of how one’s family of origin and life experiences shape their beliefs, thought patterns and behaviors. Nisha applies cognitive behavior principles to unpack beliefs and behaviors that are feeling hurtful and unproductive, and helping to gain new perspective and coping skills.

Nisha works with clients to process traumatic life experiences and explore ways to lighten the difficult burden that such experiences bring.  She encourages positive beginnings and finding new joy in life. She helps her clients create actionable plans to organize or re-organize their life, develop productive and meaningful habits and mindsets. Nisha works with clients to identify new goals or optimize current goals, and strategize ways to attain these meaningful goals.

Nisha is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi, and in addition to working with clients of all backgrounds, she also works with clients of South Asian descent.  As a South Asian woman, she understands the cultural nuances that may sometimes bring challenges to our day-to-day lives.
