Sarah’s Credentials and Experience
Sarah Armsey is a licensed professional counselor.
She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and has completed Level I training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.
Sarah also holds a master’s degree in education from National-Louis University and a bachelor of arts degree from Miami University.

Sarah’s approach to therapy is rooted in empathy and collaboration with her clients. Her goal is to provide a supportive environment for you to feel safe, seen, and understood.
At the same time, Sarah recognizes that seeking support for yourself is not always easy. It takes courage to make space for vulnerability. You’ll find that Sarah welcomes you as you are. She offers genuine warmth and a judgment-free space to untangle uncomfortable emotions.
Sarah’s breadth of life experiences, including the suicide of a family member and medical trauma, have given her a strong sense of empathy. She understands that sitting with heavy feelings is hard work. She’d like to help you on your journey to heal and find moments of clarity and joy that can set you on your path to move forward.

On a Personal Note: A Balanced Life
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys baking, painting, taking long walks outside, and spoiling her two dogs. She’s happiest with a great cup of coffee in one hand and a homemade chocolate chip cookie in the other. Her absolute favorite thing to do is spend time traveling to new places with her husband and their two wonderful daughters.
